I made some art. Surprise, surprise. Seriously, you shouldn't be surprised about that. I am always making art. But I did explore a new medium over the summer and completed (well, almost completed at the time of this writing) a series using this new technique.
But, for the most exciting thing this summer. I spent a week in Boston at MassArt attending the TAB (teaching for artistic behavior) Institute. It was an intensive summer program delving deep into the TAB pedagogy/practice. I got to work with, talk to, discuss things, and learn from my mentors and a myriad of wonderful art teachers from across the country. What does this mean for you? It means a better run classroom, more meaningful assessing and grading, new ways of accessing creativity from y'all, and a more excited spirit than I had last year. I am so looking forward to bringing it all back for you guys. I had so much fun and learned so much. I didn't know professional development could be this awesome!
